I grew up in Central Florida. hot. muggy. bug infested. After high school I packed up my flip flops, sunscreen and shorts to attend college at a small liberal arts college in the mountains of North Carolina. It was during that first fall spent just north of Asheville that I began a love affair with fall and everything autumnal.
Who wouldn't fall in love with this view on their way to class?
Besides the warm fuzzy feeling I get each time I pull out my pumpkins, wreaths, spiced candles and sweaters, there are a few other reasons the fall is so special to me.
My sister was married in late September and had the most gorgeous fall wedding.
(seriously. not sure I ever told her, but it was sort of the wedding I would do if I was ever to do mine over. we were babies when we got married and I had not really come into my own style yet.)
And this bundle of joy arrived last October - making every fall from here on out all the more meaningful. I hope she loves fall as much as her momma.
This picture was taken on our first mommy-and-me walk through a local park last fall.
Fall also brings out my most creative energy. I LOVED these Thanksgiving cards I made last year, using real leaves from my yard. Watch for a post about this project, coming soon, in case you're interested.
And, just today, I added yet another reason fall continues to be my forever favorite season: my very first ever (I know, hard to believe) Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte. A.m.a.z.i.n.g.
What's your favorite part of fall? Have any good fall crafts, decoration tips, or best memories? I'd love to hear them all and add to my long list of reasons why I dream in shades of goldenrod, burnt orange, and chestnut.
I can't believe that was your first!! Are you hooked? :)
