Good Day Ambassador: Intentionally, Katie!

First of all, I have to tell you all what sort of week it's been.
Sorry I've not posted much, but Emma has had a pretty
rough stomach bug and I've been home with her off and on
since Tuesday. I think she's finally on the mend - thankfully!

Now, on to some fun business!

It's time to recognize the second Good Day Ambassador!
March's deserving blogger is Katie of Intentionally Katie.

If you're not a follower of Katie's, I highly suggest you pay her
a visit! She's funny, real, honest and encouraging in her posts
about life as a mom, wife and friend. Here's what she has to
say about her "blogging philosophy."

If I had to pin down a "blogging philosophy," I'd say it's
important to BE YOURSELF as a blogger. I write about
topics that interest me and try to be as transparent as possible,
which is easiest to do when I don't stress about blog topics,
post frequency or writing over-edited, magazine-worthy pieces.
I write what's on my heart and mind, keeping it interesting for
other homemakers and moms who are in my same phase of life.

I guess what I admire most about Katie is this "transparent"
approach she has to blogging. For me, it's what makes me feel
like I can find encouragement and a common thread as a fellow
mom and wife. But I've been blown away by the advice she
dishes out! Even though she claims to be no expert, she gives
honest and often God-centered advice on a wide range of topics
from monthly meal planning to parenting, like this post on
Must Have Parenting Tips, to keeping a healthy marriage,
like this great post on Fighting Fair in Marriage.

In fact, her blog is nice and neatly broken down into categories
like "Being a Homemaker," "Being a Parent," "Being Married,"
"Being Organized," "Being Intentional" and so on. I personally
struggle with this intentionality, something I find helpful
and refreshing when I read Katie's blog!

How Katie approaches life tells a lot about what you can
expect as a reader. She shared a little more with me:

The way I approach life is heavily focused on time management.
Believe it or not, I'm a natural procrastinator, so it works best
for me to be productive first thing in the morning to keep
me motivated throughout the day. It's the same with blog posts:
if I'm inspired to write about a certain topic, I find that I
need to start and finish the post ASAP, even if I don't publish it
right away. If I start writing, then get distracted and try to return
to finish the post later, 95% of the time, I end up deleting the
post I began. When I'm inspired and motivated, I try to push
myself to just DO it. ALL of it, whether it's a household chore,
an errand or blog post. Then I can relax doing whatever
I want, knowing there's nothing hanging over my head.

As a fellow procrastinator, I totally relate.

And would you look at her adorable family!
(Check out her Picture of the Day blog, too.)

There's nothing pretentious about Katie. What you read is
what you get. That's her beauty and, for me, what easily won
her the spot of March's Good Day Ambassador.
Katie, thanks for the fun and helpful posts and for spreading
some GOOD to your readers by being so open and honest!
