Oh, What a Good Day It Is...

I've been thinking a lot lately
about change...
and the future...
and possibilities.

Today I had lunch with someone I feel will
most certainly become one of those who can
be marked as a catalyst for change in my life.

I don't like change. It scares me.
Strange enough, possibility scares me.
It brings with it chance for both success AND failure.
And that gives me the heebie jeebies.

But I believe God works in and through people
to help us be who He wants us to be...
beyond our own self-assigned capabilities.

I'm certain God knows me better than I do,
and so He knows I need someone other than myself
to encourage me to embrace some possibilities
on the horizon.

This friend who I lunched with today offered to,
for lack of a better term, mentor me along
this winding road of potential change.
What a blessing and a gift!

Now, for those of you Curious Georges, this mostly
has to do with developing my graphic design business.
But that could, down the road, bring other life changes.
Which, again, are both exciting and scary.

Several Bible verses have been in my head lately,
I'm sure not at all by coincidence, and
have been great comforts to me as a reminder
that God knows what I'm going through!

This is the day that the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Do not fear, for I am with you.
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will uphold you with my righteous hand.
Isaiah 41:10

I can do ALL things through
Christ who strengthens me.

It's a Good Day for New Beginnings

I've always found something satisfying and exciting about a new beginning.  The start of a new school year with freshly sharpened pencils, the possibility of straight A's and .  The first leaf falling giving you the first faint feeling of fall in the air (note the first personal characteristic of yours truly: I obsessively dig autumn and everything about it).

My newest new beginning is this blog.  In it's infancy, I dream about using it to fulfill my secret desire to be famous for my witty banter, inspiring ideas and quirky humor (imagining myself as Julie from Julie & Julia, minus the cooking).  Note second personal tasty tid-bit.

So, down to business.  My name is Teresa - a wife and mother with a full-time job from North Carolina. "It's A Good Day" is the unofficial official blog for Good Day Designs, my small but growing informal paper goods/design business housed over at Etsy.  Check out the pink button to the right - as well as a peak at some recent items for sale.  But this blog will be about so much more than some neat note cards and invitations.

Rather, it's generally about things in life that are GOOD.
Lord knows we all get plenty of the bad here and there.

Given my life and interests, you can expect to read about anything from motherhood and sweet baby girls, marriage, , my Christian faith, looking (and hopefully finding) bargains, easy recipes, crafts and simple decorating, and maybe even the occasional giveaway!

So, you are cordially invited to stay awhile, become a follower, poke around and come back tomorrow!  Have some ideas or requests for topics, please send my way (see "Write Me" button to the left).  It's nice having you here . . . here's to a GOOD DAY.
