GOOD IDEA: Christmas Advent Jar

I've been wanting to do an Advent calendar for
Emma but find myself with little time to make
one of the elaborate, multi-dozen step, buy lots
of materials ones out there in blog land.
They are all wonderful, but overwhelming.

So imagine my squeal of delight when I
saw this Christmas Advent Jar idea
on Just a Girl's blog yesterday evening.

She simply uses mini match boxes!
Perfect. Don't you think?

PSSST......
By the way, be sure and come back
tomorrow for a really fun post
including great shop discounts
and a GIVEAWAY!

GOOD IDEAS: Gift-In-A-Jar Ideas

Before I get started, can I ask a favor?
Say a little prayer or cross your fingers
or whatever for my pitiful eyes.
I have terrible fall allergies and they seem
to have set up shop in my EYES this year!
They are uber itchy, red and dry.
And now I've rubbed them raw.
And I hate (despise) (loathe) eye drops.
Which has made for some interesting
scenarios at work and home recently
asking co-workers and hubby to help.
Oh me. Oh my.
Thanks.

Now, I bet you've got a few folks to give
gifts to this year like teachers, neighbors,
co-workers, volunteer buddies, sitters, etc.
but don't want to go overboard or over budget.
How about an easy and cheap GIFT-IN-A-JAR!

Here are some ideas I've seen floating around
that combine all-purpose jars and yummy recipes:

Enjoy making these yummy gifts!

A Late Thanksgiving Wish

Hi all! I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and full of blessings. We've spent the last five days with a nasty stomach bug. First Emma, who was the epitomy of pitiful, then me. Thankfully Eric was spared. But it has made for a less than ideal holiday.

However, my folks drove in from Alabama and we ended up having a very nice visit. They had not seen Emma for almost 5 months. Talk about change! :) It was fun.

Now that we're all on the mend, I wanted to tell you all my plans for the coming week. I'm going to take a week off from blogging to get my house into the Christmas spirit...hopefully finish shopping for supplies to finish making our handmade gifts...then have lots to blog about when I get back into the swing of things.

In the meantime, I can't wait to see all the wonderful Christmas/holiday posts and ideas sure to start sufacing! Have a great weekend!
